The so called “richest game in soccer” with rewards bandied about in the £70 million bracket after the new tv deal. Both sides have great claims to take the game but I side with the North East boys of Middlesbrough. In the league this year Boro finished with 4^th with 85 points. Recent form for them sees 5 wins, 1 draw and 2 defeats. That run includes 2 wins over Brentford in the semis which led to a 5-1 aggregate win. Norwich finished 1 place ahead and with 1 point more.  They had a run of 5 wins, 2 draws and 1 loss – beating and drawing with local rivals Ipswich in semis. Team news for Boro sees two players back from injury. Key attacker Patrick Bamford is not 100% fit but may play regardless. Ben  Gibson is back from injury also. Norwich have striker Lewis Grabban back from 3 game suspension.

I have taken Boro on the outight market already but I have a thought on the goals here. Now usually these games are very tight and both sides generally afraid to risk. Here though I think the sheer quality of both attacks will lead to goals. The semi finals saw a glut with 12 goals in 4 games for an average of 3 per match. Over the course of the season Boro were actually quite tight with 2.28 per match but Norwich were buzzing with 2.96 per match. Both teams to score has paid out on 6 of the last 8 games for both teams with Norwich having both score yes in all 4 of their last 4.
