Liverpool have to feel deflated going into this game, but with their defence the way it is they were bound to come unstuck eventually. Liverpool are 2^nd in league with 81 points and will at least take the win to ensure runners up and apply slight pressure to Man City. Home form for Reds shows 15 wins, 1 draw and 2 losses. Recent form has dipped a bit for them though as 4 wins, 1 draw and 1 defeats show. Last 6 games for Liverpool have contained 25 goals (15 scored and 10 conceded) which is ridiculous for a title contender. Out for Reds here will be Enrique, Jordan Henderson returns and his loss to the side has been keenly felt. Newcastle go into this match in a bit better shape after a win ended a long winless streak. Toon beat bottom side Cardiff 3-0 at St James Park but a lot of fans would not have seen the last two goals as they left the ground on 69 minutes in a co-ordinated demonstration. Toon are in 9^th position but can be overtaken by Stoke. Away form for them shows 7 wins, 1 draw and 10 losses. Recent form is poor with 1 win and 5 defeats. Out for them here will be Santon and Cisse with Ben Arfa missing for internal reasons.

Liverpool will want to win and win well for the fans. This season will seem an anti-climax after their near miss at a long awaited title.
