Really good game at St James Park and another three points for Chelsea. This season looks already like a 2 horse race between Chelsea and Man City. With City possibly exiting the Champions League it may become a bit tougher for Chelsea. Newcastle are going through an injury crisis and must do without key men in all departments. Out will be Krul,Obertan, Taylor, Aarons and de Jong. Plus doubts over Coloccinni, Williamson and Ameobi. Good news in shape of Colback and Cisse returning. Newcastle are in 9^th with 5 wins, 5 draws and 1 loss. Recent form sees 4 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss. Just 6 goals scored but tight at back with 2 conceded. Chelsea are flying and still remain unbeaten. They have 11 wins and 3 draws from 14 games and lead City by 6. Away form sees 4 wins and 3 draws. Chelsea welcome back Diego Costa but must do without Ramires and Matic – both are big losses but Chelsea have a wealth of backup in midfield and a vast range of alternative styled players.

Toon in good form its true but still have a lengthy injury list. For me Pardew is too defensive anyway in these big games and I fancy a “park the bus” job for Newcastle – exactly the wrong approach. I was debating between a “win to nil” or the -1 handicap and the win to  nil prevails at a huge looking 2.40  with Paddypower. They have done this in 7 of their last 14 games. Indeed they have not conceded a goal since Liverpool way back in early November.
