Southampton are flying high at the moment. They played a good away game at Old Trafford and deserved to get something out of that game given how United robbed them in the reverse fixture. They go to Newcastle as clear favorites. However, even if NUFC might be in a bit of turmoil. I doubt they will get an easy route to the points at St. James park.

I do think this will be a fairly balanced tie possession wise. I would believe Southampton to see slightly more of the ball in a normal case scenario. Either side could of course decide to go four counter attacks here (NUFC more likely as they have slightly more pace to offer, and yes I do know Elia is blistering quick and could be a good counter attack player for Koeman).

Newcastle has scored in eight of their last ten EPL matches at home, and three in both of their last two. This under Alan Pardew though. It will be the first match at home for Pearson. Obviously he'd like to give the many Newcastle fans a show.

Missing Cisse is of course a blow, and an argument against this bet. However, there is plenty of talent to draw from. The young Spaniard Ayoze Perez has been decent with 5 goals in his 20 apps (8 as a sub). Colback has been scoring goals and assisting as of late from his deep midfield position, and here SIem De Jong might also be available. He can either play as a striker alone, or alongside Perez. He may also provide the role of playmaker. Cabella, Gouffran, Riviere and Ameobi haven't found the net often enough. But do offer threat going forward!

Southampton has scored in seven of their last ten EPL matches away from home. With Pelle (21/8/2), Tadic (19/3/7) as well as new recruit Elia the front line has a bit of everything. Especially Tadic has been on top form lately! Here I think they got more than enough to bang in at least one goal. Furthermore, Schneiderlin (DM) is a key player out. To make matters worse Wanyama who also can play that position got injured versus Ipswich. This is in my opinion definitely a plus for our bet.

William Hill offers 1.91 for Both teams to score. My money is on as always! Are yours?
