Southampton continue their poor run of form and this game will be  a true test of how far they have come. They are in 8^th with 49 points but have really struggled after the New Year. Home form for them shows 7 wins, 5 draws and 5 losses. Recent form shows 2 wins, 1 draw and 3 losses. Out for Saints are Yoshida, Ramirez and Rodriguez, part of the reason they are struggling. They don’t have much depth at all and that’s one thing they need to improve on next year. Everton have not given up hope of 4^th just yet but they are hampered by Arsenal’s easy run in. The Toffees are in 5^th with 69 points and are just 1 behind Gunners. Everton have a decent away record with 7 wins, 6 draws and 4 losses. Recent form is good with 5 wins and 1 loss. Unavailable for them here will be several key men with Distin and Miralles added to Jagielka and the other long term guys.

This really is the best chance for Everton to make the top 4 and they really have to push on now and grab three wins from three and pressurise Arsenal. Southampton are a decent team but rely heavily on their starting eleven being fit and this is not the case at the moment. They play decent football so it will be easier for Everton in that regard too. A close game here for me as they too are missing players, low scoring but a blue win.
