Both sides have shown some positive things in their opening games. West Ham have beaten Palace 3-1 away to counter a 1-0 home loss to Spurs.  Hammers have been a bit shakey defensively which is unusual for them. They are looking at being a bit more attacking I feel and that has had a slight effect on their defensive solidity. They will miss captain Nolan here as well as defenders Collinson and Collins. Plus Midfielder Jarvis and striker Caroll. New striker Sakho is a doubt also.  West Ham will rue the midweek draw with Sheffield United. They were dragged into extra time and penalties which will have a slight negative affect on them. Southampton had most of their 1^st team ripped away from them by sales. However Ronald Koeman has them playing well at the moment and the new signings look good on early form. They lost to Liverpool at Anfield 2-1 but to me were not far off the Reds. They then drew last week 0-0 at home to West Brom in a tough game. A midweek 2-0 win over Millwall will boost confidence and Koeman feature the same players as he tries to gel his side. He will be without attackers Isgrove and Ramirez.

West Ham have looked a bit more attack minded, especially in the last game. They took the game to Palace and scored three. They did look awful at the back here and that’s something I think Southampton will exploit. Both score looks the best bet here.
