It’s the big one in Berlin as Barcelona take on Juventus in UCL final.  Barcelona come into  this one with the domestic double in the bag. They won the league in style and had little trouble in the Copa Del Rey with a 3-1 win over Bilboa. With Messi, Neymar and Suarez Barcelona are capable of puncturing any defence in world football. A huge problem for Juventus is how they approach the game as Barce are streets ahead of Madrid.  If Barcelona lead at anytime the game will surely be up for Juventus as they cannot commit players forward with the fantastic attacking trio of Barce.  Of the twelve games played in this years UCL Barcelona have won 10 and lost 2 with top sides Bayern Munich and PSG the only victors.  With 28 games scored and 10 conceded they have been in top form. They have faced top sides too with home and away wins at Man City and PSG (they faced them 4 times this year winning 3) and an impressive 3-0 semifinal win over Bayern. Only doubt for Barcelona at this stage is Iniesta who is carrying a slight knock. Juventus have reached the final against all expectation. They did a job on Madrid in semifinal and do deserve this spot. Overall this year they have not been on top form though. They have looked vulnerable on the road. Their figures for the season shown 7 wins, 3 draws and 2 defeats.  They too won the domestic double,  walking the league while taking the Coppa Italia after extra time. Out for them here will be Caceres, while Barzagli is a doubt.

 

Barcelona have been supreme this season and although Juventus will battle and defend I simply cannot see them lasting the 90 without conceding at least once. Messi, Saurez and Neymar – they combine so well and the defence will be stretched – you think you have two of them covered and the other pops up. It generally takes more than one player to stop Messi but then you are left with Suarez bombing at you and Neymar is very good positionally too. I take the -1 on Barce and at the very worst it will be cash back.
