Bate Borisov of Belarus done well to make it this far and shouldn’t really make it out of the group. They opened up with a 6-0 loss away to Porto and teams rarely recover from a result like that in the 6 game conference.  Domestically Bate are 3 points clear at the top of Belarus league having lost just 1 game in 25 matches. The level of competition is low though and hardly preparation to play the likes of Porto or Bilbao. Bate have faced Spanish sides in Europe and lost all 8 games. Defender Nemanja Tubic misses out here. Bilbao travel to the ex-Russian state not it the best of form. They are yet to win since the opening day victory over Levante. They sit in 16^th in La Liga with 1 draw and 4 defeats to go with the win. In Champions League so far they have beaten and draw with Napoli and opened up the Groups with 0-0  at home to Shaktar Donetsk. A game both teams had a go in but neither deserved a win. Missing here for Bilbao will be Aketxe.

Not a great start for Bilbao for the season but this drop down in class will help. Bilbao can afford no slip ups in this group as the likelihood for me is Bate will lose all 6 matches.  Anyone drops points against the Belorussians will find qualification difficult. I take Bilboa to grab a low scoring win here.
