BAYERN V ARSENAL : PREDICTIONS AND BETTING TIP both teams to score

Bayern bring a 2-0 advantage to the Allianz for the second leg, but after Arsenal won here by that scoreline last year, they will be taking nothing for granted. The first leg was evenly contested until the sending off for Arsenal keeper Szczesny in the thirty seventh minute, with a penalty missed by both sides. From then on Arsenal could not compete with ten men, and Bayern cruised to victory. The late Muller strike to make it 2-0 was a cruel blow to the Gunners, making their task look almost impossible now.

Bayern have won their three league matches since the first leg by big margins, including victories over Schalke and Wolfsburg, both chasing Champions league places. A twenty point lead illustrates their dominance domestically, but with Man City winning here in the group stages, Arsenal can take some heart of an unlikely repeat of last years scoreline, which would take the game into extra time. A full strength squad looks likely for Bayern with Ribery, Muller and Shaqiri all returning at the weekend.

Arsenal have gone through an unconvincing period in the Premier league, but looked back to their best in a 4-1 home FA cup win over Everton at the weekend, to book a Semi Final spot. Ozil scored in that game, and created plenty, so hopefully he can produce a performance in Munich to atone for his tame first leg performance, and give Arsenal a chance. Missing for the game will be suspended keeper Szczesny, with Wilshere and Walcott big midfield injury outs. Revalation of the season, midfielder Ramsey is close to a return, and could make the bench, with Koscielny, Gibbs and Monreal(def) all doubts.

With Arsenal having to take the game to Bayern, a game full of goals looks on the cards, and though I expect Bayern to score the lions share of them, Arsenal should at least register on the scoresheet. Odds closer to 1.70 was what I anticipated, so at 1.91 this turns into a must bet on value grounds.
