Bayern Munich welcomes Manchester United to the Allianz Arena for the second leg of this UEFA Champions League Quarter Final. The first leg ended 1-1 (I had predicted a Bayern Munich win). However, if you followed all my Champions League predictions for the first leg of the Quarter Final you would have made over 96% profit.

Bayern Munich v Man Utd: Team news & Form

Bayern Munich lost 1-0 this weekend against Augsburg. Several players were rested though. Midfielders Schweinsteiger and Martinez are suspended for Bayern Munich. Fellow midfielders Alcantara and Shaqiri are ruled out through injury. Central Defender Dante returns from suspension.

Looking at the midfield options Pep Guardiola will have Kroos available centrally. Alaba and Lahm (especially) are likely to partner him. They both have enough defensive know how to take on the role Martinez normally does so well. If we take a look at the attacking midfield roles Bayern is good to go. Muller, Gotze, Ribery, Robben and Pizarro are all fit and available for selection.

Manchester United impressed in the mauling of Newcastle this weekend. Kagawa, Mata, Januzaj and Hernandez showed a new dynamic brand of Manchester United football.

Manchester United will still have to do do without van Persie (Striker), Giggs (Fringe attacking midfielder), Rafael (Full back) and Evans (Central defender). Wayne Rooney sat out in the weekend. He will be back here though! Winger Ashley Young is likely out too after tearing ligaments in his hand against Newcastle.

Bayern Munich may very well have 70 percent possession in this game. They have a crucial away goal, so they do not have to go Gung-Ho. As usual they will try to dominate their opponent. Even with a rather experimental midfield they should be able to do so. Manchester United has not been too good in central midfield areas this season in my opinion. The Red Devils will have to play second fiddle here and go for quick breaks like they did with success at Old Trafford.

1.25 at Paddy Power for the home win is my bet. Bayern Munich will control this game possession wise, and at home they’ve been phenomenal when it comes to converting. I do not read too much into the Augsburg defeat. They experimented a lot, and they had full focus on this game. Manchester United has improved as a team in recent weeks, but this task will prove too tough.
