REAL MADRID V BORUSSIA DORTMUND PREDICTIONS

Real Madrid look to overturn a 4-1 deficit from the first leg thanks to a dominant display from Dortmund.

The game was expected to be tight with Dortmund just small favourites as the home team but they wasted no time in showing that the books had got it wrong as we predicted and tipped a Dortmund win!  Lewandowski got on the end of a Gotze cross in the 8^th minute to give Dortmund the lead and they were the only team in the game for the first 30 minutes.  Madrid eventually got over the shock and came into the game more as the half wore on and they drew level thanks to a poor mistake from Mats Hummels under hitting a backpass which allowed Higuain to square to Ronaldo for a tap in.

The second half started like the first with Dortmund’s pacey and direct style causing Madrid all kinds of problems.  It took just 5 minutes for Lewandowski to double his tally and give Dortmund the lead again, but Dortmund were not going to stop there.  They continued to pour forward and Lewandowski got both his 3^rd and 4^th goals in the 55^th and 66^th minute to give Dortmund a commanding lead in the match.  It was a breath-taking display and one of the best matches I have seen all season, we can only hope the second leg lives up to the first!

Both teams recorded 2-1 away victories at the weekend with heavily rested teams, concentrating all their resources on this match. Real Madrid has versatile defender Alvaro Arbeloa back for this game. Ronaldo sat out this weekend, but is going to be ready for this game. Dortmund only has injury worries over defender Lukasz Piszcek. Lewandowski and the more attacking Ilkay Guendogan.
