Real Madrid was taught a footballing lesson in last season’s Champions League semifinal against Dortmund. It is pretty clear Real Madrid would like to repay that lesson now.

Real Madrid got back to winning ways after back to back defeats domestically this weekend. They trashed Rayo Vallecano 5-0. In this seasons edition of the Champions League Real Madrid has been close to spotless.  They have scored plenty of goals and looked solid at the back.

Dortmund fans must feel their team has had a mixed season, but they sit second in the table after Bayern Munich. Even if the side has had some injury concerns as of late they have managed to win two and draw once domestically since their last Champions League tie.

The Germans have lost three times this season in the Champions League. Away to Napoli and at home to Arsenal and Zenit (after winning the first leg away)! It must be said they have also grabbed impressive wins against great opposition.

Versatile defender Arbeloa, defensive midfielder Khedira and young attacking player Jese Rodriguez are out for Real Madrid.

Star man, Robert Lewandowski is suspended for Dortmund and Jurgen Klopp still has some selection issues due to injuries. Central Midfielders Sven Bender and Ilkay Gundogan, Central Defender Nevan Subotic, Left Back Marcel Schmelzer and Winger Jakub Blaszcykowski are all most likely out still.

Real Madrid is better than last season, and Dortmund is weakened. I also think the loss of Lewandowski will be tough on Dortmund. Reus documented world class form with a hattrick in the weekend, but I doubt they will have much success. Schalke 04 tried last round, but they lost 9-2 on aggregate. Dortmund may be a better side than Schalke even with the injury problems they have, but I see few possibilities for a positive result here. Home win shout!
