Best game of the last 8 sees two heavyweights clash. Argentina meet Colombia in a cracker. Argentina won a tough group with ease. Wins over Jamaica and Uruguay and a draw with Paraguay took them through. The draw was unusual as they took a 2-0 lead against Paraguay but were pegged back to a 2-2. They showed a few defensive frailties that Colombia could really exploit. The Colombians only scraped through as a “best 3^rd placer” they lost to Venezuela in a shocker. A game they just never got going in.  The 1-0 win over Brazil was fully.  deserved as they played to their strengths and bullied them out of the game. A draw with Peru was good enough to take them both through and wasn’t much of a spectacle.  Now in this knockout stage we move straight to pens after a draw on 90 minutes. This creates problems for the “bigger” sides who will have it on their minds for sure. Colombia would take it now if offered. I think if you took Messi out the Argies side their would be little between these two. The Colombians are a very wily side and are very dangerous to boot. I much prefer them on the Asian handicap with the draw included.
