Benfica have a very impressive Europa league record, and will be looking to go one better than last years final loss to Chelsea, when they were without doubt the better side that night. Their Europa record at home overall reads an impressive fifteen wins and two draws, while in this years competition they have seen off PAOK, Tottenham and AZ to reach this stage. Fresh from wrapping up the Portuguese league title with two games to spare they are also still in both domestic cups, and are therefore very much in the running to claim four trophies this season. They are currently on a seven game winning streak in all competitions, and have conceded only one goal in that run. Defender Silvio and attacking winger Salvio are out injured for Benfica.

Juventus have a real focus on lifting this trophy, because as well as securing a first piece of European silverware for fifteen years, this years final will be staged at their Turin home. They have seen off Trabzonspor, Fiorentina and Lyon to get here, and have conceded only two in the six game run so far, winning all three of their away ties. Eight points ahead in Serie A it is almost assured now that they will retain their title, and they are rightly strong favourites to go on and lift this trophy. Striker Tevez looks the only injury doubt for the tie.

They will certainly be keen on grabbing a precious away goal to take back with them, and I think they can get it.
