Huge game at Anfield as the two most successful English teams in Europe meet for the 1^st time ever in continental competition. Man Utd are in 6^th place and Liverpool in 7^th in EPL with just 3 points between them although Liverpool have 1 game in hand.  Liverpool have seen an improvement in play and points recently as Sturridge and Coutinho both returned from injury. Recent results show an unbeaten run of 8 games with 4 wins and 4 draws. In Europe this season they have 3 wins and 5 draws and are yet to lose. The games have been very tight in Europa with just 7 scored and 4 conceded in 8 games with 4 clean sheets. It has to be said though that the earlier group games where generally played with fringe members of the squad. They are without Lucas for this one and have a slight doubt over skipper Milner.  Man Utd are missing a few with Rooney, Lingard,  Jones and Schweinsteiger all out. They are in mixed form with 4 wins and 3 losses in last 7.  In Europe this year they have been mixed also, dropping out the UCL after finishing behind PSV and Wolfsburg. Overall results show 5 wins, 2 draws and 3 defeats.

I can see this game being really slow paced. Liverpool v Man Utd ties recently have all gone the way of United with them winning the last 5 consecutive encounters.  Both side will seek to keep it tight and the away goal is vital for United.
