Shakhtar Donetsk will host Sevilla in this semifinal in L’viv. The Ukranians have spent most of the season outside their own are due to the political situation in Russia. They are 2^nd in league with a 7 point deficit over eternal rivals Dynamo Kiev. In Europe so far they initially struggled in Champions League. Finishing 3^rd after just 1 win to go with 5 defeats. They were given an impossible group though with PSG and Real Madrid making up the numbers with Malmo. They have better adapted to Europa League with 5 wins and 1 draw to eliminate Schalke, Anderlect and Braga. They are without Fred and Azvedo. Sevilla are 4 times winners of this competition and all victories have been in the last 10 years. They are not looking likely to make the top 4 so this is their best option to get back into UCL. They are 7^th in the table in La Liga. In Europe they too dropped out of UCL after 2 wins and 4 defeats. They did have a hard group too though with Juventus, Man City and Moenchengladbach. In Europa they have 3 wins, 1 draw and 2 defeats. A major feature of their season so far is their inability to win away from home. In the league they have yet to do so in 17 attempts (9 draws and 8 losses) while in Europe they have 1 single win (last round against Athletic Bilbao) but have 1 draw and 4 defeats also. They are without Rami, Reyes, Tremoulinas and Vitolo.

Shakhtar don’t get the respect they deserve and the fact this game is considered neutral venue bumps the price up too. I take the “The Miners” to triumph here and give themselves a huge chance of making the final.
