CHINA - HOLLAND :PREDICTIONS

China have left the World Cup Qualifying at an early stage again. Indeed they have managed a solitary appearance in the World Cup Finals (atSouth Korea/Japan 2002) They face a top Holland side who are in imperious form.

China are not in great form, they lurch from one charge of corruption to the next and the domestic league is flooded with highly paid foreign players who are stifling the local talent. Results have been poor for the year with 4 wins, 2 draw and 6 defeats. They were given a tough group in qualifying as this is a difficult confederation to get out of but China have generally struggled against the top sides.  The Chinese side lacks top class players, with only 1 player gaining experience abroad (Chen Zhizhao played a couple of state matches for Corinthians) China are looking to superstar (and indeed only standout player) Zheng Zhi for inspiration. The Guangzhou Evergrande midfielder at times seems to struggle to carry the side. China are hampered by their lack of progress in qualifying which in turn leads to a lack of competitive football.

Holland has breezed through qualification and several friendly matches since their disastrous showing in Euro 2012. Unbeaten in nine matches (7 wins and 2 draws) since the local derby loss at Benelux rivals Belgium in August. Holland are supremely talented side, with a real mix of youngsters and old heads they are letting the newer players gain some valuable experience. We all know the talent of Arjen Robben and Wesley Sneijder but the new boys Siem de Jong and Jeremain Lens are extremely talented. Holland was held for long periods by a plucky Indonesia in front of 80,000 passionate fans in Jakarta on Friday. They eventually broke the home side down and in the end a 3-0 win was fair enough. Holland sit top of their qualifying group with 6 wins from 6 and a positive goal difference of 18. Considering they are facing a tougher section than most with Hungary, Romania, Turkey and Estonia they are making light work of it.

CHINA - HOLLAND: BETTING TIPS

A real mismatch this game and one that could see Chinese football set back a bit. I expect Holland to score a few goals here and would be surprised if the home side can create anything. Holland to win -1.50 (1.90 bet365) is the best bet. China seem to shrink on the world stage and at no time do they play with belief against any of the better teams. Holland will have a similar game as they did against Indonesia and the result should be the same.
