Kei Nishikori played very well against powerful men like world number 8 Cilic and in-form Samuel Groth of Australia. Nishikori is very good when it matters. You do not want to bet against this guy in game defining moments. I have learnt that the hard way.
John Isner himself is in pretty good form. Especially his serve is dialed in. He hit 30 aces against fellow country man Johnson last night.
These two met in Miami back in April. Going into the tie Nishikori looked hard to beat, but Isner had a fantastic game. He served well. Especially his second serve was massive on the night. He also returned extraordinary well. It looked like he could hit winners with his eyes closed. Basically; I think he just had "one of these nights". I doubt he will get more than 55% return on his second serves against Nishikori tonight. This should give Nishikori chances to break Isner for the win as Kei has returned well when playing both Groth and Cilic. Especially he has been able to attack second serves.
Nishikori is an obvious favorite, but I do see this go three sets. The power of Isner is undisputable! It is not too hard to imagining him getting a set of Nishikori in his current form. I go for the over 25.5 line which also covers a 7-6 7-6 win to either man over two sets.
