Scotland Premier League Preview Part II I-S

Inverness : Last season finish 3rd with 64 points.  2014 income £4m – Payout - Wages £3m Debt £0m. Major deals in: Kink and Roberts – Major deals out: Ofere.  Caley gained there 1st ever trophy last year with a Scotland Cup success and a best ever league finish with 3rd overall. They have already made their maiden bow in Europe but succumbed at the 1st stage to Romanians Astra.  I think that Inverness have slipped up letting Ofere go as he did well in his short stint. They have not lost anyone else though and have brought a few in. I think they can hold onto third at the very least.

Prediction: 3rd in Premiership.

Kilmarnock: Last season finish 10th with 41 points. 2014 income £4m – Payout – Wages £3.2M Debt £0m. Major deals in: Findlay, McCulloch,Smith and Carrick. – Major deals out: Muirhead.  Kilmarnock had a season to forget last year but have made some interesting signings and should improve this year. Player/Coach Lee McCulloch joins from Rangers alongside Steven Smith and Findlay of Celtic too.  They should be much more competitive this season and im taking them as the big mover of the summer, they should make the Championship group at the very least.

Prediction: 5th in Premiership.

Motherwell: Last season finish 11th with 36 points.  2014 income £4m – Payout – Wages £4.2M Debt £1m. – but they did record a yearly loss of just under £1m Major deals in: Heffernan, Low and Loy – Major deals in: Chalmers, Johnson, McDonald, Thomas and Fletcher. Major deals out: Carswell and Erwin. A finish of 11th was terrible for Motherwell and they only escaped relegation after a relegation playoff win over Championship Rangers (they did batter them over 2 legs to be fair) – Coach Ian Baraclough has not messed about and brings in a host of new players while only striker Erwin left the club and they made almost half a million £ on him. They will probably improve a little but only a place or so for me.

Prediction:  9th in Premiership.

Partick:  Last season finish 8th with 46 points. 2014 income £2m – Payout – Wages £1.44m Debt unknown. Major ins: Amoo.  Major outs: Fox.   A decent season for Thistle who managed to turn a slight profit off the field and finish a repectable 8th. They have lost a few  players out of contract though and only brough in 1 player in Amoo.  I think they may struggle this season and a relegation dog fight looks on the cards.

Prediction: 10th in Premiership.

Ross County: Last season finish 9th with 44 points. 2014 income £2.5m – Payout – Wages £1.9m Debt £0m. Major deals in: Hasselbaink and Morris – Major deals out: Fox, Holden, McShane and Meite- Major Outs Carey. Ross Co have not made any signings of note. They have lost one of their key men in Graham Carey and he will be a major loss. I fear for them this year and think they are nailed on for rock bottom.

Prediction: 12th in Premiership.

St Johnstone: Last season finish 1st in Championship. 2014 income £5.1m – Payout – Wages £5.0m Debt 0£. Major deals in: None – Major deals out: None – No business at all over the summer of Saints. Although they retain the squad the middle of the Scottish Premier is very evenly balanced and a hefty drop in finishing position may not take many points. I think others have strengthened and Saints have not budged.

Prediction: 8th in Premiership.
