Tuesday Capital One preview

By admin-alf on August 25, 2015 in Football, Sports

Tonight there are lots of interesting matches in the Capital One Cup. Below we will take a look at some of the Premier League teams that will play. We regularly post new free football predictions, so make sure you check out our predictions page!

Aston Villa is hosting the League One team Notts County. County has 2-2-0 so far this season, and has scored goals in all the matches. Their coach, Ricardo Moniz, has experience from Tottenham and Hamburger SV as a skills and technical coach, so the team is probably not bad at handling the ball.

The Aston Villa coach Tim Sherwood has said he is taking this match seriously and will field a strong team, but exactly what he means by a strong team we are not so sure about. There has been some talk about Adama Traore, and that he will get the chance to play tonight.

We have a prediction out for this match, and recommend a bet on Aston Villa -1.

Leicester, a team that has performed well so far this season, will also another League One team in Bury. Bury has seen plenty of goals in their season so far, in both ends of the pitch. A whopping 19 goals has been scored in four League One matches.

Leicester coach Claudio Ranieri is known as the Tinkerman, and according to the Leicester Mercury he will start with a newly composed starting XI tonight. The new arrivals Inler, kante and Benalouane, plus the youngster Dodoo, will all get to play.

The difference in level of play between the divisions in England has been reduced somewhat over the years. Therefore we will not bet on an experimental starting XI Leicester against an established Bury team, at least not at current market prices. But the over 2.5 goals price is more interesting, if you agree then you can get 5/6 (1.83) with BetVictor.

Crystal Palace is hosting Shrewsbury. Shrewsbury has struggled so far, with only two points in four matches, even though it is worth mentioning that they knocked out Blackburn in the previous cup round. Crystal Palace seems to take this match seriously, and will field a relatively strong team. They will have to do without Wicham and Bolasie on top, but these were also when Crystal Palace beat Aston Villa last weekend.

We are still recommending that you wait with your bets until the starting XI is known. And if Crystal Palace looks strong, then they should win this match.

Bournemouth, that finally showed some scoring form when they beat West Ham over the weekend, will travel to Hartlepool. Hartlepool has started well in League Two, so is by no means a walkover.

Bournemouth coach Eddie Howe will probably rotate his squad in tonight’s match, though we have not found any concrete info in local papers yet. Hartlepool is missing their defender Bates, and it is said that Oates will make a debut on top. This seems like a difficult match to predict, and we are not placing any bets. The market price for the away win is not very attractive.

Luton is visited by Stoke. Luton has only two points in four matches in the League Two, but has defeated League One opposition in the cup so far. Stoke is expected to make changes to their team. Bojan might get some time on the field according to local papers. Shay Given will probably start as goalie, and both Stephen Ireland and Peter Crouch are expected to start. Solid names, and a good indication of how much Stoke has improved over the years and the quality of their squad. Jon Walters was not available against Norwich, but is expected to be available in this match.

We believe Stoke should win this match, and have a free football prediction out for Stoke -0.75.

Newcastle will face Northampton at home in St. James Park. Northampton started their League Two season really well with two wins, but has lost their last two matches. Newcastle has reduced the ticket prices for this match, and coach McClaren has made some aggressive comments in the media and wants to keep the momentum up after the 0-0 draw against Manchester United. So we expect a good atmosphere tonight, and the fans will surely expect a Newcastle win.

Newcastle will have to do without the important Sissoko for some more time. Coloccini is expexted to rest in this match, and Anita is doubtful. Siem De Jong is said to be match fit again, and if that is the case he will probably play. In addition to De Jong, Newcastle has several other offensive players in Winjaldum, Mitrovic, Cisse and Thauvin. Northampton is missing two-three players, but will field a relatively ok team (compared to their strongest team).

This is the Capital One Cup, so nothing is for sure, and we recommend to check the final starting XI before betting. One thing is what coach McClaren is saying pre-match, another thing is what he actually does. If Newcastle fields a strong team, then we will consider betting them as -1.5 Asian handicap.
