Mens Olympic Football - Brazil v Belarus

By howtobet on July 28, 2012 in Olympics

Brazil cemented favouritism with a win over Egypt that was the proverbial game of two halves. Belarus had a cautious 1-0 win over New Zealand that was gained with an element of fortune. Which team will push on to secure qualification?

Group Top Scorers: Neymar 1,Damiao 1,Rafael 1,Aboutreika 1,Salah 1,Baga 1.

Last Game Analysis: Brazil were superb for the first half with fantastic passing and movement. They attacked from all areas of the park with free flowing football. Key man was not Neymar surprisingly, the youngster Oscar was the star of the show. Skillfully picking passes and drifting past players with ease. The Brazilian attackers destroyed Egypt early in the game. However the defending was shambolic 2nd half, in the end it was lucky they started so well as Egypt got on the scoresheet with 2 good goals. Even experienced defenders Marcelo and Thiago Silva could not tighten the back line. They will have to improve at the back or they could be vulnerable in the knockout stages. Belarus by way of contrast played a strong defensive game with swift counter attacks. As soon as they scored they shifted to full on defence and sat back totally. New Zealand could not break them down and they looked comfortable. They will not expect anything from this game so will be free of pressure.

Betting Analysis: Brazil should have less trouble against a Belarus side devoid of any attacking flair, indeed Belarus only looked threatening from dead ball situations against an average New Zealand side. I cannot see anyway Belarus can score in this game, Egypt managed it twice but this will be a different game and Brazil will seek to improve the defence. Brazil to win to nil @1.90 is a good price.
