Mens Olympic Football - Senegal v U.A.E

By howtobet on July 31, 2012 in Olympics

Senegal have been a breath of fresh air in this tournament. Very strong and extremely physical they have bullied both Uruguay and GB and surely will be trying to win Group A with a big victory here. U.A.E only have pride to play for after elimination in their loss to GB.

  3. Uruguay        P2 W1 D0 L1 Pts3 GF2 GA3 GD-1

Group Top Scorers: Konate 3, Giggs 1, Bellamy 1, Sinclair 1,Sturridge 1,Lodeiro 1, Ramirez 1. (Others on 1)

Team Anlysis - Senegal will look to 3 points to top the group, They look very likely to qualify so may rest a few players but I cannot see them doing that. They play a high tempo game with pace all over the pitch, commitment is very high with extremely strong tackling and almost rough house tactics. Two players to catch the eye are Konate who has scored three so far. Mane has looked good up front and has caused problems. No team has really had a good go at the back line yet so we don't know the full strength of the defence.
U.A.E play some good football but its a lightweight variety with no real penetration, the team looks capable of scoring but defensively they were poor. The backline plus goalkeeper looked shakey and were exposed many times in the two matches. Against the powerful Africans they should struggle immensely.

Betting Analysis - Senegal can qualify even in defeat so again we have another difficult game to call. U.A.E cannot cope with the african attack, if Senegal go for the win it should be easy for them. U.A.E have no pressure now but this could have negative effect as they have no reason to try and compete all over the park against the overly phsyical Senegal. Selection is Senegal to win to Nil at 2.20
