England League Two again here as Newport entertain Cambridge. Both sides had started the season not in the greatest of form but recent results are cause for optimism. Newport opened with losses to Wycombe, Morecambe and Mansfield. Three of the better sides of the league. Recent games saw a draw against highly rated Burton and a win over Portsmouth. All games against teams in top half of the table. Striker Rene Howe is out for this one. Cambridge season is a similar one to Newport. Cambridge have beaten Plymouth and Carlisle, the latter the best performance of the season with a 5-0 hammering. They have lost to Portsmouth and Morecambe though. Ryan Bird will be available after joining on loan from Portsmouth for his 2nd spell at Cambridge. He managed 9 in his 12 games here at the end of last season. Key midfielder and club skipper Tom Champion will miss the next month or so injured.
A very tough game to call here with both sides showing good but poor form also. Last 10 games for both sides has seen 30 goals for a high average of 3.00 goal per game. Both teams to score looks the better option for me with the 1-1 a real live contender. Both teams score yes occurred in 6 of the last 10 games.
