The last 16 match of the tournament sees England take in Icelnad. Its seems a one sided match on paper with England expected to stroll past tiny Iceland. However all is not as it seems as Iceland are worth or more respect than a walkover.  England beat Wales 2-1 in what in truth was a game with very little quality and more endeavour than anything else. The draws with Russia and Slovakia again highlighted England’s problems more than their positives. They do have quality available in all areas, they just struggle with a cohesive game plan and Hodgson still doesn’t know his best team or formation.  Adam Lallana is a doubt, if he misses out Jordan Henderson will likely fill in. Iceland qualified unbeaten from a tough group. They drew with Portugal and Hungary 1-1, they defended well in the 1^st game to grab a point but played well in the Hungary match and were good going forward. The 2-1 win over Austria again was well deserved. They were the better side and looked good going forward.  No injury or suspensions for Iceland here.

England should win here as they are superior in all areas on a man to man level. However Iceland are a formidable unit and have already bested Austria while levelling with Portugal and Hungary. In the groups they stopped Netherlands too and should not be easily dismissed. I see a more open game here than the usual knockout fare and take the both teams to score.  Of the 6 games these two teams have played so far both score has occurred in 5 of those matches.
