Skybet
General information
Skybet is a Harrogate based betting site operating out of Leeds and London. Skybet is licensed out of Alderney. Skybet is part of the huge BSkyB corporation which main asset is the UK Sky satellite company. Skybet is one of the few UK companies that holds no traditional betting shops. They came about in 2002 when Surrey Sports was bought out by SKY, and they increased size considerably in 2004 with the acquisition of 365 media group. Taking control of UKBetting and eventually Goldbet, giving them entry into the lucrative European market.
Financial matters
Sky is one of the biggest companies in the UK as part of the BSkyB corporation, there are little details regarding Skybet revenue for this year but the company is one of the biggest in terms of financial clout so there are no issues what so ever with payments. Overall adjusted revenue grew by £888 million to reach £6,597 million! So its safe to say they are here for the long haul!
Payment methods
Skybet have various solutions depending on what market you are in. Cheque, Credit Cards ( MasterCard, VISA ), Debit Cards (Laser, Maestro, MasterCard, Solo, VISA, VISA Delta, VISA Electron ), Moneybookers / Skrill, NETeller, PayPal.
Website performance and usability
Skybets website is above average. Its a bit garish and not as responsive as others. At times it can be come confusing as your search for the sports and bets you are after. Its pretty simplistic though and after a bit of time you get used to it. Skybet do not offer as many of the vast range of sports the others do but they are more interested in quality of offer. Another negative for Skybet is that they are very quick to restrict winning customers. I have had several problems with them on this matter. In the UK you can bet interactively through the TV if you have the Sky satellite service.
Customer service
Skybet are very quick with online help and have informative and helpfull staff. They are knowledgeable about the business and very courteous. Skybet are a bit bonus mad at times and quite often give you free bets when you have a period of inactivity on their site, which is good. You can email them with any special bets you wish to place and they are usually quite accomodating.
