La Liga Primera Predictions – Barcelona vs Real Sociedad
Last year’s runners up in La Liga Primera Barcelona will be looking to win back the title from an excellent Real Madrid side at the first attempt. The first step of that is facing Real Sociedad at home in what most expect to be an easy 3 points for Barcelona.
Barcelona start the season with just one major addition to their team, signing the Spanish left back Jordi Alba from Valencia, a move which upgrades them at arguably their weakest position last year. There is advanced talks over signing Alex Song from Arsenal as a replacement for Seydou Keita which will also upgrade the overall strength of an already excellent squad. Arguably bigger than any signing is the return of David Villa from injury and the forward was well missed by Barcelona last season.
Sociedad will be pleased with their 12th place finish last year and will be hopeful of pushing into the top 10 this year. They made the loan move of Carlos Vela from Arsenal permanent and freshened up the squad with a few other signings.
Total Goals
Barcelona at home was a recipe for goals last year and the market fully expects it to continue this year with Over 2.5 Goals priced at a mere 1.34 with the under a huge 3.5. With Villa back Barcelona should score even more goals than last year which would be phenomenal.
Asian Handicap
The Asian market can see nothing but a Barcelona win with the huge handicap of Barcelona -2.75 priced at 2.01 with Sociedad +2.75 at 1.94. Barcelona routinely dispatched clubs at home by 3 or more goals and the chances are they’ll continue with that type of display this season.
