Scottish Premier League Predictions - Hearts vs Inverness
Hearts this season will be aiming to finish 2nd in the league and gain the chance of qualifying for the Champions League next year. They will be competing with teams like Dundee United and Motherwell who have all had to reduce their squad numbers with a reduction in SPL money for this season.
Inverness will be aiming to improve on their 10th place finish last year and will ultimately be looking for a top 6 spot. They have lost 7 players in the offseason, some to rivals, so it will be difficult to improve on last season’s performance. They have however brought in 5 replacements from the English lower leagues and time will tell if they have the quality necessary to keep Inverness in the SPL. They have started the season off ok, with 2 draws from their first two games.
Hearts have had a poor summer themselves with the loss of a huge 9 players from their squad. Luckily for Hearts they carried a bigger squad than most SPL sides and needed to trim down but having brought in no replacements, the nine losses will see the squad stretched this season. Hearts have started the season well, winning their first game and drawing their second against bitter rivals Hibs.
Total Goals
The market doesn’t expect many goals in this match with Under 2.5 Goals being set at 1.8 and the Over at 2.2. I feel this is a game where chances will be at a premium and I expect a low scoring game. I’ll be backing Under 2.5 Goals @ 1.8
Asian Handicap
The Asian market expects a home win to be as likely as any other result with Hearts -0.5 @ 1.96 and Inverness +0.5 @ 1.97. I feel this is about right for this game with Hearts being the stronger team despite their depleted squad and have home advantage.
