Scottish Premier League Predictions - Kilmarnock v Motherwell
Both Kilmarnock and Motherwell have had identical starts to the season, one 0-0 draw and one 1-1 draw in their two matches so far. This will be the week where each club feels it needs to get its first win and put 3 points on the board.
Kilmarnock finished 7th last year and their first goal this year will be to move into the top 6 split at the end of the season, from there they may aim for a Cup final appearance or a European place. Despite their protestations Kilmarnock have not lost as many players as most of the SPL, of the five players who have left only one you would call an important first team player was Dean Shiels who moved to Newco Rangers in division 3. They have brought in 2 new players who will add to the squad quality and managed to re-loan Sissoko from Udinese for the 3rd straight season.
Motherwell also has fared rather well in these turbulent times and has lost only Tim Clancy from their first team. Simon Ramsden has been brought in as a replacement from Bradford City and Motherwell will be hoping they can continue last season’s form and finish 2nd behind Celtic this year.
Total Goals
The market expects a low scoring game with Under 2.5 goals priced at 1.74 and the over at 2.20. Both of these clubs averaged just over a goal a game last year and this price seems about right.
Asian Handicap
The Asian market cannot pick much between these teams with the handicap set at 0, we have Motherwell priced at 1.94 and Kilmarnock at 1.98. This really is a game with very little between the sides and a draw is certainly not out of the question.
