Last week they needed extra time to see off regional side Amstetten in the cup first round, gaining a 1-0 verdict in the end. With several decent looking signings made Rapid could have a decent season, and last term they managed to beat Salzburg in both home games, with a draw and a defeat in their visits to Salzburg. Schimpelsperger(def), Grahovac(mid) and Starkl(str) look set to miss for Rapid.
