NAUTICO – PONTE PRETA: PREDICTIONS

Brazil Serie A returns and one of the 1^st games for us is a bottom of the table clash between Nautico and Ponte Preta.

Nautico are languishing near the bottom of the table but only five matches have passed so its not all doom and gloom. 1 win, 1 draw and 3 defeats is not a great start to the season but they did win at Flamengo which is a decent result for them. Nautico are strong favourites to finish bottom of Serie A so they really need to start picking up some home points as a winless start (from 2 matches) is not great.

Ponte Preta are rock bottom of the Brazil Serie A after a terrible start has seen them lose 4 and win just 1 of their 1^st five matches. A surprise win at Flamengo (something todays rivals Ponte Preta also managed!) is the only points they have gained so far. They have lost all three of their home games which is poor enough but they did have a very difficult opening set of fixtures, Sao Paulo and Corinthians are two of the best sides in the division. Ponte Preta have just Nautico below them in the relegation betting so will need to start picking up the points to ensure survival.

This looks a good price for a home win in this basement clash. Brazil tends to have a big home bias in its results and looking back through recent games between these two the home sides tend not to lose. The odds are drifting slightly on Nautico but I am siding with the home side on Asian Handicap. We take Nautico -0,25 at 1.83(bet365)which means we get half stake returned on a draw.
