SANTOS – CORITIBA: PREDICTIONS

Two improving sides meet at Villa Belmiro as Santos hots Coritiba.

Santos looked initially lost after the loss of Neymar to Barcelona, and with an incoming transfer fee split several ways Peixe ended up with a meagre amount for such a huge talent. It took Santos a few games to reorganise themselves but they have regained a bit of balance and look solid now. Sitting in 8^th position now with 3 wins, 2 draws and 2 defeats life looks a lot better. Winning the last three league games (including clean sheets against Atletico Mineiro and big rivals Sao Paulo) has pushed them up the table and confidence is restored.

Coritiba remain the only unbeaten side in Brazil Serie A and that is not something many would have predicted at the start of the season. With 4 wins and 3 draws Coritiba sit in 3^rd just a point behind leaders Botafogo. The figures are a little biased though as Coritiba have won all 4 games at their stronghold in Parana and drawn all three away games. They are playing well though and do look a solid outfit.

This is a really close game between two well matched sides. Both come into the game in strong form and full of confidence. I think Coritiba again will be happy for a draw and fancy that over a win for either side.
