Derby host Chelsea in an intriguing tie in Capital One cup. Derby of Championship are in 3rd position with 38 points, home form shows 6 wins, 3 draws and 1 defeat. Recent form for them sees 4 wins and 2 defeats. Out for them here will be defender Ryan Shotton suspended. Chelsea go into this one with rotation in mind. For a side with such strength in depth that is not a problem at all. The likes of Petr Cech, Zouma, Fabregas, Remy, Salah, Willian will all feature – all top quality players who would walk into the vast majority of other Premiership starting elevens. Chelsea are top of the Prem currently with 39 points – they did relinquish their unbeaten record with a surprise loss to Newcastle recently.
I don’t see how Derby can compete here – if they were in the top flight with this squad they would be relegation zone for sure. Chelsea will rotate for sure but in games like this it is the best option – these new players are still top quality and the fight will be there too as they will want to show form. I take Chelsea -1 – we need a 2 goal win to collect and a 1 goal win gets stakes returned.
