EVERTON – STEVENAGE: PREDICTIONS

Everton are yet to win a competitive match under Roberto Martinez and this game offers the perfect opportunity for that 1^st win. Stevenage visit Goodison Park for Capital One Cup.

Everton have opened up with 2 draws from 2. Games against Norwich away and West Brom at home were both characterised by a load of endeavour but without the usual Everton solidity. Martinez has a huge squad at his disposal so even a wholesale change of players will still see some quality on show. The likes of Hibbert,  Kone, Riuz, Naismith and Anichibe all strong players to have as backup. Darron Gibson will miss out as will central defender Alcaraz who is still awaiting his debut.

Stevenage have not had a good start to League One. Winning just one game and losing the remaining three.  They had a great win in Round 1 though beating a strong Ipswich side 2-0 to gain this plumb tie.  Stevenage have a young and inxperianced team and they don’t look to have gelled as yet. They seem to have a problem creating as they have only managed 1 goal in the last 3 games.
