Liverpool have probably the easiest game of all the Premierships sides in Capital One Cup. They face Carlisle of League 2 at Anfield. Brendan Rodgers is for sure rotating here but the main problem for him is he needs a result. Lose here and he could be out the door so he has to have some 1st teamers. Liverpool are 12th in the top tier with 8 points from 6 games. Benteke is not available due to injury, as in Henderson. I have doubts over Sturridge here as Rodgers surely wont risk another injury. Liverpool have named a solid squad with just a couple of youngsters. Carlisle sit in 10th in League 2 with 13 points. They will have the same team as last match available.
Liverpool are going in with a top side. Of the starting eleven only youngster Rossiter is classed as untried. The likes of Can, Firmino, Origi, Ings etc all cost the reds a pretty penny. Rodgers knows he needs a win and some decent play and a few goals wouldn’t go amiss either.
