Liverpool v Notts County predictions & betting tips
Liverpool has opened their League campaign with two wins out of two. It’s widely expected Liverpool will let a number of their stars rest for this League Cup clash. Players such as Jones, Allen, Cissokho, Kelly, Skrtl, Wisdom, Sterling, Ibe, Alberto, Assaidi, Borini and Morgan are definitely all in contention. Maybe some Academy players will be given minutes too. One thing is certain though, Coach Brendan Rodgers has a better squad than last season, so he should be able to pick a very competitive team for this Capitol One Cup (League Cup) game.
Notts County hasn’t opened their League One campaign very well as they are 0-1-3 (4 goals for – 8 goals against) in their first four matches. Notts County has several doubts in their squad as a handful of regulars sat out against Stevenage in the weekend, a game County lost in injury time. These doubts are: Captain Dean Leacock (Defender), Alan Sheehan (Defender), Enoch Showunmi (Forward) and Danny Haynes (Forward). Notts Co. Coach Chris Kiwomya has said in the press he is more focused on getting the first League One win than winning against Liverpool, so he will probably be on the cautious side with his rooster.

Liverpool will take the game to Notts County, and the County defense hasn’t impressed anyone this season. With no European Football I certainly expect Liverpool to be focused in the domestic cups. I am however no fan of the 1/6 (1.17) odds on Liverpool (1x2). Given the nature of this competition I just think they are too low. I am also wary of the Asian Handicaps available. The narrow ones are priced low due to the stature of Liverpool as a club, and the wider possess too much risk as we don’t know the LFC team sheet yet.
The Liverpool second string was involved in many goal rich matches last season though, and 8 out of Liverpool’s last ten League cup ties have gone over 2.5.
