Morecambe ply their trade in League Two. This season hasn’t opened very well for them as they are 1-1-2 in the first four matches. In the League Cup so far they knocked out League One side Wolverhampton. The injury list has cleared lately and midfielder Andrew Wright is back from suspension. The only absentee is Jack Redshaw.

Newcastle will field a fairly strong eleven in this Capital One Cup game but midfielder Cabaye is still left out of the squad due to his ongoing transfer saga. Cheick Tiote and Jonas Gutierrez, both midfielders are also still out. Defender Steven Taylor is still suspended and Loic Remy (Striker) and Massadio Haidara (Full back) are out as well.

Morecambe has players back and is in fine form. Newcastle looks in a downward trend to me. The Pardew – Kinnear partnership is questionable, the atmosphere in the dressing room looks poor and they continue to struggle with players on the treatment table. I smell a cup bomb detonation on the Globe Arena this Wednesday night.
