Newcastle host Sheffield Wednesday at St James Park in what looks to be a possible upset. The odds are big on Newcastle at 1.91 or 10/11 to win this game and that says it all for the home side who are struggling. Sitting 2nd bottom of the Premiership without a win and the heat is on coach Steve McLaren. I would say so much that he cannot afford to lose this one. If that happens and he then loses a few more Prem matches he could be out of a job. Newcastle have a few guys at 50/50 to play so McLaren may gamble here but that is not wise cause of action. Defenders Taylor and Dummett, midfield men Tiote and Marvuex could all feature. Sheff Wednesday are in 14th after 9 points from 8 matches. Goals have been a major feature of their games with 13 in their last 4 matches. They concede but do score also. Wednesday will not want to disappoint the 5,000 fans they are taking over to Newcastle.
For this one I think the best course of action is both score. Sheffield Wednesday are very open defensively and with it being a cup tie I can see some gung ho attacking from both sides. Especially if one goes behind.
