Whenever I asses games in early rounds of cups the main criteria is manager. Will the manager want in or out of the competition. Some guys hate these extra games, the likes of Pulis, Warnock and Allardyce. They send out the stiffs/kids and get it over and done with minimum of fuss. Steve Evans of Rotherham is another in this mould. Surviving the Championship relegation is all that matters. A 4-1 home loss to promoted MK Dons would have been a wakeup call to them. Evans has already said he will play a 2nd string. Only keeper Kelle Roos of the eleven beaten at the weekend will start and Rotherham don’t have quality in depth. Cambridge had a cracker on day 1 and hammered Newport 3-0 at home. Robbie Simpson returns to the squad after missing the weekend.
This is essentially Rotherham reserves v Cambridge. Ok Rotherham are Championship but they wont be at end of season. Cambridge are League 2 but will do well this year.
