England League 1 outfit Sheffield United take on League 2 Mansfield in Capital One Cup. Sheffield United opened up with a surprise 2-1 loss at home to Bristol City. They featured 6 new players in that game and they did look a bit offkey. However the quality of player is there and when they gel results will come. Surprise captain on Saturday new signing Micheal Higdon will likely be rested here and James Wallace will sit out too. In will come club captain Michael Doyle and Neill Collins. Mansfield lost 1-0 to Northampton at the weekend. They played well in patches but the defence was poor and new Swiss goalkeeper Sascha Struder looked a liability. Ollie Palmer will take no part, new signing Liam Hearn will be given minutes but is unlikely to last 90 minutes.
Sheffield United will ease a few players back into the fold after a mini injury crisis. Club captain Doyle will return. Higden will likely step down to the bench and can be introduced if needed. Mansfield looked ok for part of the 1st half but looked poor for the rest of their opener. A home win looks decent here in this cup match.
