An upset looks on the cards here as England League 2 side Southend host League 1 Walsall; Southend have made a few interesting additions to their squad. They look a side well capable of doing some damage in the bottom tier. They opened up with a solid 1-0 away win at Accrington. No injury problems for Southend. Walsall may well be in for a struggle in League 2. A dour 1-1 draw with Port Vale set up there opening day. Walsall will still be without injured trio Sam Mantom, Ben Purkiss and Jordan Cook.
These sides are very evenly matched and the bookmakers cannot split them. Phil Brown has a strong Southend squad here with some great attacking players. Lee Bernard and Shaquillle Collthirst are better players than this division for sure. Im siding with the home side but take a little insurance on draw no bet.
