STOKE – WALSALL: PREDICTIONS

Stoke host Walsall in Britannia stadium as two teams seek passage to round 3 of Capital One Cup.

Stoke are trying to evolve their play into a more passing style. They have a real robust team though and you can see through their play that sometimes they simply revert to the long ball through habit. Mark Hughes has already stated he will play an almost full strength side.  Wilson Palacios is the only problem for Stoke with illness. A home win and an away loss is par for the course for Stoke so a bit of respite for Hughes.  I expect everyone to beat Crystal Palace at home though so more convincing victories needed.

Walsall have had a strong start to  the season and indeed only lost their 1^st match of the season at the weekend.  3 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss is a decent start to the season and they battled hard on Saturday and were not disgraced in a match against a really strong Brentford side. Walsall will have a fully fit squad to select from and should see the return of key defender Andy Taylor.
