TEAM NEWS AND RUN OF PLAY

Barnsley finally returned to winning ways thanks to a fine performance in London. A first win in 12 matches was all the more favourable as it came at the expense of inform Millwall. Barnsley were given a helping hand as Millwall lost defender Adam Smith and then also benefitted from a missed penalty by the the normally deadly Henderson. Barnsley played with maximum effort and hustled for everything, however they were not entirely convincing as Millwall were surprisingly awful.

Birmingham run of poor form continued at home to Burnley, fielding seven teenagers in the starting eleven due to a mounting injury and suspension list Lee Clarke was actually rewarded with one of the best halves of football from a Birmingham side. The team struggled however second half and all things considered a point was a fair result. Key man Marlon King is struggling with injury and is likely to miss the next match which is a huge blow.

Barnsley are maybe the worst side in the league and with one lucky win in 12 matches they are relegation certainties for sure. Birmingham are not far above them thats true but they are capable of beating any side in the league. Lee Clarke got a fantastic 45 minutes from a youthful side on Saturday so will be aiming for two decent halves this Boxing Day.
