BIRMINGHAM - DERBY PREDICTIONS AND PREVIEW: BETTING STATS AND FACTS

Birmingham secure another valuable point in midweek with a 1-1 home draw with Blackpool. They are creeping away from the drop zone but with it being so tight down there Brum know they can get sucked back into it with a bad run. With top striker Marlon King out for the season Lee Clarke has brought in Andrew Shinnie, not a straight swap but the Inverness forward is more of a playmaker. However 13 goals is a good return for the Scots Prem. With 10 wins, 13 draws and 13 losses Brum are in 18th place but only 5 points above the drop zone.

Derby are mired in midtable and are safe it seems from relegation and little chance of a promotion push. This can be a dangerous time though, teams in this position seem to stagnate and have a tendancy to tail of for the season. Derby have not won in 7 matches, they have had a difficult run of games mind with 5 of these matches against top six sides. Derby are in 12th with 11 wins, 12 draws and 13 losses. Away from home things have been grim with only 3 wins from 18 games. No new injury worries for Derby in this game.

Birmingham is the selection here between two sides who have had poor seasons overall. So much promise from the home side evaporated pretty early but there have been encouraging signs from them of late. Derby are scoring in each game but are conceding heavily, the team look like they have signed off for the season already. Away from home they are quite frankly rubbish and I expect another loss here. Two evenly matched sides overall but home advantage means Birmingham take the spoils. Nice price on the home side too as for some inexplicable reason most bookmakers offer this as an "each of two" game.
