Blackburn meet Blackpool in an eagerly awaited local derby in England Championship

Blackburn sack their third coach of the season amid typical chaotic scenes at Ewood Park. The Venkys administration lurches through another calamity, something pretty everyone predicted after the dismissal of Steve Kean. After exiting the FA Cup at the quarter final stage Blackburn have also descended down the league table.  No wins in eight games (with 5 games where they failed to score) is a terrible run of form.  Blackburn sit in 18th position in the England Championship now with 11 wins, 13 draws and 13 losses, they are only 4 points above the drop zone. Gary Bowyer takes the caretaker reigns for the second time and for me if Venkys want to do something right they should give him the job. He led the club to three wins and a draw in his short stint last time and is the right man for the job. Colin Kazim-Richards could return, whilst David Bentley, Martin Olsson and Markus Olsson are fit again.

Blackpool look a much more solid side under new coach Paul Ince. He has stabilised the backline and they are tough to beat now. With just three goals conceded in the last five games. The Tangerines should be much higher than they are and a gap of just 4 points highlights how poor their season has been. With are record in the England Championship of 11 wins, 13 draws and 14 defeats Blackpool are not safe yet. Chris Basham and Barry Ferguson return from injury which will boost the visitors.

BLACKBURN - BLACKPOOL BETTING TIPS

Blackburn are taken here for the sheer value on the home side. One thing that has been constant throughout the season is the bookmakers over evaluation of Blackpool.  Both sides are locked together on the same points but Blackburn have a game in hand. The home side are a much better outfit and have by far the better squad. A price nearer 2.20 would be fair so to get 2.50 is great value. Key men return for the home side with four first teamers all back. Blackpool are still trying to adjust to Ince and with a lingering scoring problem (just  3 in 7) they are opposed here.
