Blackburn finally got a win, after six games without one they upped their game. Reserve team coach Gary Bowyer takes the helm as Venkys scour the globe for the next appointment. With the entire backroom staff ejected bar Bowyer Blackburn are rudderless again. Travelling to Barnsley the Lancashire side put in a great performance, scoring three sublime goals. Blackburn must win the majority of their remaining matches to have any chance of a playoff spot. Ruben Rochina scored an amazing goal on his comeback from injury but may not feature here after picking up a knock.However Nuno Gomes is available after a long absence and Colin Kazim-Richards is a very able replacement.

Nottingham Forest showed great fighting spirit to recover deficits in injury time of both halfs against a strong Crystal Palace side. New coach Alex McCleish will be happy with the point and will be looking to instill some of the hard work and fight that characterise his teams. Forest are already a really difficult side to beat but they do tend to draw too many games, something else the new coach will have to address. He has a lot of options too with Brendan Moloney, midfielders Simon Gillett, Guy Moussi, Lewis McGugan and Henri Lansbury and striker Simon Cox all available to add to the first eleven. Allan Hutton is there too and may return to the 1st team.
