BOLTON – BLACKPOOL PREDICTIONS

Bolton take on Blackpool in a Lancashire derby that could seal the home sides place in England Championship playoffs.

Bolton are in a fantastic run of form, they go into this game with just one loss in six games (4 wins, 1 draw) with 10 goals scored and only 5 conceded. Bolton have been one of the form sides of the last few months and a heavy glut of wins coupled with Leicester, Nott’m Forest and Middlesborough all faltering has seen them almost secure a playoff spot. Bolton knows that a win here is good enough but they also know that a draw may be good enough if Leicester and Forest also draw. Bolton really benefitted from getting injuries early on in the season! This may sound strange but it really got the side going when players were returning around New Year and Bolton picked up serious momentum. Coach Dougie Freedman is one of the best in the division and you only have to look at the demise of Crystal Palace after his departure for proof. Jay Spearing is ruled out as is fellow Liverpool graduate David Ngog. Stuart Holden could be in line for a sensational return after honing his fitness at Sheffield Wednesday.

Blackpool returned to winning ways with a nice 2-1 home result at Derby. Paul Ince has worked wonders on his return to football management and The Tangerines are looking a much better outfit. After the hammering at Brighton (6-1 loss) all eyes were on Blackpool to see how they would respond. A 90^th minute winner from Ludovic Sylvestre was all it took to see that Blackpool players were keen to battle till the end. Blackpool sit in 15^th position with a record of 14 wins, 16 draws and 15 defeats in England Championship. Paul Ince is in the ridiculous position of having to deal with a vastly outsized squad with no less than 37 players, many who hardly featured this season.
