BOURNEMOUTH – CHARLTON: PREDICTIONS                                 

Two of the lesser lights of the league meet in what should be a decent game of football, two sides who believe in knocking it around should produce a good spectacle.

Bournemouth were promoted last year mainly thanks to the tremendous stewardship of highly rated young coach Eddie Howe. The football was very good for the level of England 1, and won them some top plaudits. A few judges are giving them dark horse status to go up, like Southampton and Norwich before them. The similarities are there so it will be interesting to see how they start. Decent signings in experienced pair Ian Harte and Elliot Ward.

Charlton go into the season just glad to be in the division. A tremendous late surge saw The Addicks rise from the relagation spots to very nearly challenge for a playoff spot. They just ran out of games right at the end as Leicester and Bolton just pulled away from them. Coach Chris Powell has not tinkered with the team much and he actually seems to prefer a smaller, tighter knit squad.

A very close game this one and one I will not try and pick an outright winner of. The game could go either way and looks a really difficult one to call.
