TEAM NEWS AND RUN OF PLAY

Charlton lost their second successive game in a week with a loss at Sheffield Wednesday, to go four games without a win. Its a surprising statistic as they now have a fully fit squad and for some reason seemed to play better with players out! The performance against Wednesday was one of the worst of the season so far. They had little meaningful possession and created few clear cut chances. They allowed a struggling Wednesday side time and space and were duly punished in a 2-0 defeat.

Ipswich have just one defeat in six as their mini revival continues. Mick McCarthy has changed the teams fortunes and now Ipswich are very hard to beat. They are a motivated and organised side now and are not as poor defensively as under Paul Jewell. Last game they really should have beaten fellow strugglers Bristol City and in the end a 1-1 draw was a fair result. Ipswich are looking dangerous attack wise now and with Michael Chopra nearing full fitness they will be boosted further. McCarthy has the task of trying to keep hold of DJ Campbell and his retention could be the key to survival.
