DERBY – BRISTOL CITY PREDICTIONS

Derby face up to Bristol City in an important match at the bottom of the England Championship.

Derby finally ended their terrible run of form with a hard fought home win over Leicester. Prior to that match Derby had played eight games without victory.  Derby are not safe yet however, sitting in 13^th in the England Championship they only have a 6 point gap between themselves and the dropzone. 12 teams are separated by only 7 pointsm highlighting just how tight the division is. Derby have 12 wins, 12 draws and 14 losses. At home they excel with 9 wins, 7 draws and just 3 defeats.  Derby have a host of players back and have benefitted from the extended break,  leading scorer Jamie Ward is back along with Craig Bryson and Gareth Roberts.

Bristol City are still bottom of the England Championship but not for want of trying. Just one defeat in five has seen Bristol City close the gap between themselves and half the league! The Robins are very strong at home but do not tend to travel well, indeed they have only picked up 12 points from the 57 available. They site plum last with an overall record of 11 wins, 6 draws and 21 defeats. The England Championship has proven to be one of the most evenly matched leagues of any across Europe. Star man Jon Stead is not ready yet but winger Paul Anderson is fit again and will boost Bristol City.

Derby are taken here in a tough game, both sides are very strong at home but poor away so that is the deciding factor for me. Derby are boosted by several key men returning too. Bristol City are missing Jon Stead and do not have the quality in depth to replace him. The Derby win looks good for me and with a decent price for the home win too and one we will be having.
