DONCASTER - BLACKBURN: PREDICTIONS

England Championship game day three already and two sides yet to get off the mark meet up at Keepmoat Stadium.

Doncaster finally grabbed promotion back to the Championship and take their place in the second tier. The side is definitely worthy of a place at this level as they do possess quality; they are also supplemented with loan players from the top division and should start to pick up now. Doncaster have only played once so far due to Wigan’s participation in Community Shield, Donny managed to lose their home game with Blackpool 3-1 despite being the better side. They fell apart towards the end and were incredibly nervy. Doncaster are still awaiting the debut of new signing Harry Forrester, this game may come too quick for him. Man Utd’s Frederico Macheda could be signed in the next day or two and would go straight into the side.

Blackburn have two games without a win and the Venkys will be anxiously rooting out the P45 should the run continue. A nothing performance at Derby was rescued by a late equaliser and a 1-1 draw was a very lucky result. Last match saw Nottingham Forest visit Ewood and Rovers again went through the motions, a draw would have been a fair result but a lack of concentration in the dying minutes let Forest in to steal a winner.

Both sides have good, technical players but so far neither team has shown much. Blackburn look to have not shaken of the malaise that was around the squad last year. Despite trimming the deadwood from the squad they have few real leaders and have had two poor league games so far.  I think there will be goals in this game and see the bookmakers heavily favour the unders which is a surpise.
